Permit to Fish – Day Permit

Buy your daily permit to fish here. This permit allows you to fish with rod and line with the appropriate tackle for the specified species of fish in the River Tees from St Mary’s Well below Gainford Churchyard upstream to Barforth Wath (adjacent to the downstream cemetry line).  Subject to the Environment Agency (EA) bylaws and fishery local rules as specified on this website.

Please ensure at the checkout you complete the date you are buying the permit for. This date is the ONLY date the permit covers. Proof of purchase and your ID must be presented if asked to do so by the bailiff or a committee member.

ALL FISHING TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ENVIRONMENT AGENCY FISHERIES BYELAWS FOR THE RIVER TEES.

All legal baits and methods of angling are permitted with the exception of use of natural minnow, fry, prawns or shrimp and limitations on use of spinning lures as follows:

No spinning lures of any description to be used for Trout, Graying or Coarse Fish at any time or to be used while fishing for Salmon (migratory fish) prior to 16th June.
