Fishing Rules and Regulations
By purchasing a permit to fish the holder of this permit:
- Agrees to conform to EA bylaws and local rules
- Must not transfer it to any other person
- Must produce proof of purchase when called upon to do so by any authorised representative of the trust including other permit holders
- Must return to the water without harm all coarse fish, all trout less than 22.5 cm, grayling between 30 cm and 38 cm, seatrout less than 25.4 cm and salmon less than 30 cm in length as defined by EA Northumbrian bylaws
- Must not return or restrain any migratory fish trout or grilling in a keep net
- Is limited to killing and returning two trout or grayling and one salmon or sea trout in total for any one day’s fishing and up to a maximum of four salmon or sea trout for anyone annual season
- Comply with closed seasons as laid down by the environment agency bylaws
- Is not permitted to fish between the hours of 12 midnight and 6 am
- Must not do any damage to the riverbank or it’s surrounding i.e. digging for bait
- Submit a record of catching fish killed prior to issue of further permit by emailing secretary@riversidetrust.org.uk
- Pay the appropriate fee prior to commencing fishing.
Please note that EA bylaws prohibit the use of maggot during the closed season for coarse fish.
No spinning lures of any description to be used for Trout, Graying or Coarse Fish at any time or to be used while fishing for Salmon (migratory fish) prior to 16th June.
